My portrait of Wynton Marsalis, the great jazz trumpeter, is composed of a jewel-like assortment of pieces that I painted in inks, acrylic, and watercolor. Then I cut the pieces to create a collage that I overpainted in oils to capture the vibrant gift of the man and his music.
