I painted this in memory of my beloved dad, a marvelous man who made it so easy for me to believe in the love and care of my heavenly Father, when He gave me such a wonderful dad here on earth. After we lost him, the pain was so great that I could not paint this tribute until about two years had passed. I look forward to that blessed day when I will be with him, and with our Lord and Savior, for all eternity, when every tear will be wiped away and we will know the everlasting joy of God's love. This was painted on a solid birch panel, in oil and cold wax, with deeply incised lines cut and scraped into the surface. It is my hope and prayer that those who carry the burden of pain and grief will find comfort in the invincible and infinite love of Jesus, who has opened the way to heaven for all who believe.
